Design concept

We design, print and install commercial vehicle graphics and wraps in Canton, Ohio: lettering, partial and full wraps for work vehicles, fleets and dealerships. The install studio is in Canton Township, unincorporated Stark County.

Which artwork file types do you accept?

Our FAQ answers it this way: "PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, PNG and JPG, up to 25 MB each. Vector files print cleanest."

The artwork step of our quote, where you upload them, sets the limits: "Up to 10 files, 25 MB each. PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, PNG or JPG."

Our production page says how each one prints:

Artwork file types and how each prints
File typeHow it prints
SVG, AI, EPS or vector PDFPrint cleanest
PNG or JPGCan work for lettering and simple marks

Section 2 of our Artwork and cancellation policy sets the standard: "Print-ready means we can send your file to print without redrawing it."

On vector files, it reads: "Vector scales to any panel on any vehicle without losing detail."

For a PNG or JPG, it asks for "at least 100 dpi at full output size", and explains: "Full output size means the finished size of the panel the artwork prints on, not the size the file appears on your screen."

On fonts: "Fonts are converted to outlines, or the font files are supplied with the artwork."

Our quote's artwork step adds: "Uploading a file doesn't mean it's print-ready yet. We check every file before the first proof."

What if a designer made your logo?

Ask your designer for the logo as SVG, AI, EPS or vector PDF, the files that print cleanest, with the fonts converted to outlines or the font files supplied.

Section 10 of our Artwork and cancellation policy covers a logo a designer drew for you: "You represent and warrant that you own all right, title and interest in any artwork, logo, trademark or other material you submit to us, or that you have obtained every permission, license and consent necessary for us to reproduce it on your vehicle and to use it as described in this policy. This includes any logo, business name, slogan or design element supplied by you, whether you created it, licensed it, or had a third-party designer draw it for you. Please confirm that permission before you send the file."

What else should you send with the artwork?

Our production page lists what we need from you:

  • Your logo in the best format you have
  • The exact wording for the sides and rear
  • Your USDOT or MC number if you display one
  • A photo of each side of the vehicle
  • Whether the vehicle is owned, financed or leased
  • Whether the vehicle carries old graphics or has been wrapped before

What about your brand colours?

The artwork step of our quote has a notes field, "What did you have in mind for the design?", with this hint: "For example, colour schemes to use or avoid, or a one or two sentence description of what you had in mind visually."

Lettering puts your name, logo, phone and USDOT or MC number on both sides and the rear, in up to two standard cut-vinyl colours. Our guide Vehicle lettering, partial wrap or full wrap: what each one covers puts the three packages side by side.

Artwork is one of the five steps of our quote. Choose I need design help on the artwork step. We'll talk through what you want and draw it. Laying out your graphics carries no design charge; creating a logo from nothing is separate work at a flat rate of $200, waived on a fleet account and for returning customers, and we confirm it in writing before that work begins.

If you ask for design help, the upload on the artwork step is optional, for anything that helps the design: "Logos, fonts or typography, screenshots of designs you like, and examples you have made, including ones from an AI tool."

What happens after you send the files?

Up to three rounds of revisions, at no design charge. That covers laying out your graphics, and the rounds that refine the proof. Creating a logo from nothing is separate work at a flat rate of $200, and a re-design that abandons the direction you approved rather than refining it is a flat rate of $100. Neither is charged on a fleet account or for a returning customer, and we confirm the price in writing before that work begins.

Section 5 of our Artwork and cancellation policy opens: "Nothing prints until you approve the proof in writing."

Section 8 of our Artwork and cancellation policy opens: "Artwork you supply remains yours." Section 11 adds: "We keep your artwork for twelve (12) months after your most recent order that used it, so that a reorder, a repair panel, or an additional vehicle can be matched to the same design. We do not publish the artwork files you send us." It also explains how to ask us to delete them sooner; if you do, we may no longer be able to match a later order to your original design.
